Christmas Gifting: Toffee Vodka
A staple recipe of my University days in the early noughties! Now if you have not done this before, bear with me - ground up Werther’s originals with vodka popped in the dishwasher on your regular cycle. It is such an easy way to create delicious toffee goodness which is great poured over ice cream with a shot of espresso to make the ultimate affogato or maybe a festive espresso martini!
Ingredients:
Toffee vodka
135g Werther's Original or other hard toffees
500ml vodka
Method:
Blitz the toffees in a magimix or blender until fine or the texture of coarse sugar - this can be done by bashing the toffees in a freezer bag with a rolling pin or in a pestle and mortar
Pour the vodka into a bottle with a leak proof lid or large kilner jar. Make sure the bottle is maximum 2/3 full
Pour the toffee dust into the vodka bottle or jar and give it a shake
Tightly seal the lid and put the bottle or jar into the dishwasher with your regular cycle on a hot setting
When the cycle is finished, the toffees will be melted into the vodka. Allow to cool completely and pour into smaller bottles as gifts
I hope you and your friends love this recipe as much as we do here at ByRuby HQ!
Best Wishes,
Milly
