Christmas Gifting: Spicy Nuts
This is such an easy recipe and one that I often have as a handy snack in my cupboard ready for when friends come round for dinner or if I fancy something savoury with a glass of wine or margherita. The shop bought spice seasonings are so good - I have used the fajita seasoning from Sainsbury's in this recipe but I've often used harissa or jerk for a change. If you don't have hot honey, use regular honey but add a little more chilli if you like a kick!
Ingredients:
- 500g unroasted mixed nuts
- 4 tbsp pumpkin seeds
- 2 tbsp hot honey
- 2 tbsp flavourless oil
- 1 tbsp nigella seeds
- 1 tsp chilli flakes (optional)
- 3 tbsp fajita seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
Method:
Preheat the oven to 160C fan
Line a large baking sheet with baking paper
Mix all of the ingredients together in a large bowl until fully combined
Pour onto the baking tray and bake for 20 minutes stirring 1/2 way through
Make sure the nuts are toasted and golden, add a bit more time if necessary
Allow to cool and break up with your hands. Store in a large jar until needed or divide between jam jars as gifts
We hope you and your friends love this recipe as much as we do here at ByRuby HQ!
